Amazing Quilts – Quilt SOS 2017

I am so blown away by the amazing quilts you are sending in for the 2017 Quilt SOS project.  I really wanted to share some of them with you for inspiration.

Here’s a delicious stack of the amazing quilts I’ve had so far.  They are jam packed with Liberty loveliness!  We have had six quilts in so far but have had pledges to make many more.

Amazing quilts - stack

Valerie has made this really pretty quilt and has finished it with the most wonderful appliquéd butterflies.  Each one has been appliquéd differently and with special care.  I can’t quite get over how very pretty these quilts are and indeed, how much work must be going into each and every one.  This quilt has been designed by Valerie using FQ’s and cutting them in random lengths (1.5 – 3.5 inches) x 9 inches wide and then sewing into blocks.

I’ve also had one using a random flagstone pattern, a log cabin quilt design and a simple 9 patch quilt bordered in pretty pink fabric.

Here is some of the lovely detail in the log cabin quilt made by Lesley.

We need more quilts for boys as there are over 40 boys in the village.  Do sign up here if you are able to make one.

Thank you so much to the wonderful ladies who have made a quilt so far.  Thank you too to those who are beavering away on the sewing machine.  There is a lot of Quilt SOS action happening in the studio and I will blog about these when they are a bit further along.

Happy sewing everyone – this is for a great cause!
