Beautiful Vintage Liberty Dress

I absolutely LOVE making my own clothes and this beautiful vintage Liberty dress was no exception!  It’s made from one of my all-time favourite Liberty fabrics – Carline D.  The vintage 1950’s look and feel of this dress is really lovely and can we worn for day or evening wear.  You can add a petticoat underneath to make it fuller and give it greater effect if that’s the look you would like.

Beautiful Liberty Dress - Carline

I have quite a selection of beautiful Liberty dresses in my wardrobe now and this is one of my favourites.  I have always loved this Liberty fabric and so was delighted when Liberty re-released it as part of the Classic revival collection a couple of months ago.

Beautiful Vintage Liberty Dress – the fabric – Carline D

This is a really pretty 1950’s vintage design with pink roses which is really quintessentially English.  The fabric comes in a red and light pink colour way too which are equally as beautiful.  This fabric has been re-released as part of the Classics Revival collection.  In this collection, Liberty have produced some of the most popular and gorgeous vintage Liberty prints from deep within the Liberty archives.

The pattern

I used a Simplicity pattern 6723 to make this beautiful vintage Liberty dress.  The pattern is quite versatile and you can choose the neck and sleeve variations to suit your figure.  You can make the dress for evening wear by adding a belt and a purse too which is part of the pattern too.

I went to a vintage party in this dress which was great fun – check out my Victory rolls!
