Christmas Cathedral Windows Cushion

I’m really excited to showcase this stunning Christmas Cathedral Windows Cushion.  It’s been designed by Suzanne Campion one of my customers.  I approached her earlier on in the year to make something using my exclusive fabrics. You may remember the cushion she made. As a result of this, lots of people asked for the pattern at The Festival of Quilts.  I asked Suzanne if she would ‘guest design’ the pattern for us.  Here it is.  Suzanne has made the cushion in these gorgeous Christmas colours. I’m selling this as a kit which is out now; the downloadable pattern will be …

Liberty Christmas Table Mats

These gorgeous Liberty Christmas Table Mats are sure to make your festive table shine.  This is the last of Sarah W’s Christmas projects. I asked Sarah about the project.  She said “This was my first attempt at free motion quilting and I’m thrilled with the result.  To make these table mats, I used a Christmas scrap pack and embellished with sequins and gold thread.  I also used one fat quarter of Capel Green to make the bias for the edging.  These were really fun to make and I can’t wait to use them on our Christmas table.” This sewing project …

Liberty Christmas Bunting

The project for today’s 12 Days of Christmas is this lovely Liberty Christmas Bunting.   It’s the second project by Sarah W from the studio.  You can use them as bunting or as hangings for sweets and treats or simply to jolly up your home. Sarah talked about her love of this project.  “I don’t know about you but for me, when it comes to Christmas, I’m a traditionalist.  My Christmas theme is red or green and a bit of gold to add the sparkle so when it came to choosing fabric for the Christmas stocking bunting it had to …

Christmas Tree Chocolate Holders

Sarah W from the studio has made these really sweet Christmas Tree Chocolate Holders.  They are really lovely and are the first of three projects that Sarah has made. Sarah says “These little cones were so quick and simple to make and look lovely on the tree filled with treats.  I’ve chosen reds and greens and have picked the Wiltshire Christmas  and matched it with a brighter red.  It only takes two 9′ x 13″ scraps to make four cones but I did use interfacing to give them some structure.  These were a pleasure to make and have added to …

The Liberty London Store at Christmas

The Liberty London Store at Christmas is one of the most magical places to visit.  Anna and I went to London yesterday to the launch of a photography exhibition.  More about that later.  First, we visited Liberty of course to see the Christmas window displays and to take another look in the Christmas department. The outside of the store looks so pretty lit up with beautiful Christmas lights. The Christmas department also looks gorgeous with hundreds and hundreds of baubles to choose from.     The Liberty Christmas windows have so much vibrancy and colour.  It’s always fun to see …

The Perfect Liberty Gift

I’ve designed the Perfect Liberty Gift.  For those who adore Liberty fabric and also like to keep things neat and tidy, my wash bag and accessories range would make a great gift.  The wash bags and purses are handy and practical but are also beautiful and stylish. The Wiltshire red range has such a Christmas feel about it.  The wash bags and purses would make a great gift for someone who loves to travel.  I love to keep my cables and plugs in my medium purse.  It came in handy when I was in Poland to deliver the Quilt SOS …

Festive Wiltshire Dress

This Festive Wiltshire Dress is the last of the series of projects by the lovely Lewes Sewing Bees.  Gill Nicholls has made this gorgeous dress using one of my exclusive Wiltshire fabrics. I love this dress.  It can be worn at the festive drinks parties or for the rest of the year for any special occasion.  Gill has certainly got her Christmas drinks party outfit sorted for this year.  It has spurred me on to get sewing for my Christmas outfit.  Thank you to the lovely Pauline from the studio for modelling it here.   I asked Gill a few …

Liberty Christmas Cards – How To

I’ve made some pretty Liberty Christmas cards this week which are so simple and yet super pretty.  Once you have your supplies, each card takes minutes to make. You will need: Liberty Christmas fabric which you can buy here.  I suggest buying fat quarters of each of your favourite fabrics.  (Each regular Liberty FQ will make around 12 cards). Ready made cards and envelopes (I have used 135mm finished card size but you can choose your favourite size) Glue (I’ve used Coccoina which you can buy here) Christmas stamps and ink pad which you can buy in most crafting shops. …

I’m Dreaming of a Liberty Christmas

I really am dreaming of a Liberty Christmas this year.  I absolutely love the festive season and can’t wait to cover my home in Liberty fabrics through one craft project or another.  I’ve got several Liberty Christmas craft projects lined up to share with you over the next few weeks.  I thought I would start with the Liberty Christmas baubles project so you can start with decorating your tree. I’ve made versions of these baubles before, but they are so popular that I’ve made fresh ones this year.  I’ve gone even bigger this year and I’ve also filmed a video …

Christmas Holidays Wreath How To

Every year before Christmas I get together with a group of friends at our local village hall and we make wreaths for our front doors. We make a brew of delicious hot apple & cinnamon (heat apple juice in a saucepan with 2-3 cinnamon tea bags, serve in mugs), put the Christmas tunes on and get crafting!   You will need:  A mixture of non-deciduous greenery (I used bay and Leylandii. Holly, laurel, fir and conifer also work well). Secateurs or strong scissors. Florist’s wire and wire cutters. Wire ring (30cm diameter). Optional: dried oranges & cinnamon sticks, red berries (real or fake). …
