Beautiful Liberty Lap Quilt

Kathy from the studio has made this Beautiful Liberty Lap Quilt for her friend who is moving away.  She’s used a lovely combination of teal colours alongside making EPP jewels in the alternate blocks.  I asked Kathy about the quilt.   What inspired you to make this lovely quilt?  “I loved the colour way that Anna made for her quilt and I decided I wanted to recreate this for my friend Lisa.  I loved the simplicity of the design – it’s a 16 patch block (made using 15 different Liberty fabrics).  My good friend Lisa is going to live in …

Beautiful Baby Quilt

Dawn has made this sweet and Beautiful Baby Quilt using a really lovely combination of colours of Theo.  This makes such a lovely and personal gift for a newborn. Who did you make this gorgeous quilt for? “I made the quilt for my nephew’s baby (on my husband’s side of the family).  My husband and I have recently become Great Uncle and Great Aunt to baby Sophia.  She was born 2 months premature so rather caught me on the hop with my quilt making!”   What inspired your fabric choice? “As she was unexpected early I decided to try and …

Liberty Easter Makes

Dawn from the studio has made these completely adorable Liberty Easter Makes.  I’m holding out so much hope for being able to be with friends and family at Easter time this year and seeing these projects has really lifted my spirits.  There’s a beautiful table runner, gorgeous cushion and placemat.  Dawn talks about her projects here.         What gave you the inspiration to make this gorgeous table runner? ” I had some of the ‘Easter’ Liberty fabric (actually called Field Flowers!) left over from other Easter projects, and I only needed a couple of short pieces to ‘top …

Beautiful Liberty Valentine Projects

Dawn from the studio has made these Beautiful Liberty Valentine Projects to decorate her home.  Liberty fabric is simply perfect for combining hearts and bright valentine colours for these easy to make projects.     I asked Dawn about these pretty projects: “I spotted the Kitty Grace fabric in red and pink colour ways while working in the studio and bought some straightaway to make some valentine projects.  The patchwork heart cushion pattern was from Sadie Yeomans at Cornerhouse Crafts, and only needed 5 strips of fabric measuring 1 1/4 ” x 18″, so I raided my Liberty stash for suitable …

Valentine Button Heart Cushion

Dawn from the studio has made this adorable Valentine Button Heart cushion.  I love the combination of vintage buttons with Liberty fabric in this project and it looks like a fairly quick and simple make too. I asked Dawn about the project: Where did you find the inspiration to make this cushion? “I had already made the button heart piece with some crafting friends and it seemed a good idea to make it into a cushion using Mitsi on the back.  Like most sewing fanatics I had a plentiful supply of buttons but never seemed to use any of them, …

Butterfly Notre-Dame Cushion

I love this Butterfly Notre-Dame Cushion made by the very talented Suzanne Campion.  It’s been made to complement the gorgeous quilt I posted about last week.     I asked Suzanne about this lovely cushion project:   I love the fussy cutting of the fabrics in this cushion.  Can you tell us a little more about the technique? “Fussy cutting involves focusing on a particular design element within a fabric and highlighting it. I chose to bring out the butterfly detail and in particular the Strawberry Thief panel border of the cushion was centred and cut the same for top …

Liberty Detachable Collar

Laura has made this gorgeous Liberty Detachable Collar which is fully reversible.  It’s got a lovely vintage style about it and I love the fact that it is two garments in one.  Laura told me about the project below: “I have never had any need to do the whole ‘Christmas jumper’ thing. Certainly no need for jumpers in December in Australia. ‘Christmas sunburn’ was more the thing, an attractive red and regret-tinged momento of what my Christmas Day outfit of choice did not cover. Ouch. However I must say that even if they were a thing Down Under, I probably …

Liberty Pine Cone Decoration

Pauline from the studio has made this really sweet Liberty Pine Cone Decoration.  It looks super simple but yet really effective hanging from the door.  The vibrancy of the Liberty fabric really showcases the pine cones beautifully. Pauline said about the make “I spotted it on Pinterest and thought it was the perfect no-sew festive make when time is always short at this time of year.  I have loads of pine cones so it was meant to be.  Armed with my trusty glue gun and beautiful Christmas inspired Liberty fabric, already pre cut into 2″ ribbon strips, it was a …

Luna Lapin’s Liberty Cat

Lara’s final super cute make from the Luna Lapin’s friends book by Sarah Peel.  Here’s the cat which Lara has made for herself.  It’s completely gorgeous, as are the fox and rabbit shown in previous blog posts. “I made the cat first.  I chose the lovely felt fabric from a company called Billow Fabrics.  I decided that an old skirt of mine would make a rather lovely pinafore dress.  I lined the dress and ears with Wiltshire C.  I also used the Wiltshire C fabric on her footpads which looks really sweet.  I love the pinafore dress so much that …
