Gorgeous Liberty Quilt As You Go Quilt

Anna JP has made this Gorgeous Liberty Quilt using a combination of the two latest Liberty fabric collections.  It has beautiful fabrics from both the Classics 40th anniversary collection and the SS19 seasonal collection. The Quilt as you go technique is really simple.  It’s a great way of getting a quilt result in quilting.  The method means that you have a backing piece of fabric (right side down), place your wadding on top of that and then quilt your panels onto the front.  In this case it is strips of whole width of fabric.    Here are some of Anna’s …

English Eccentrics SS19 Liberty Collection

Also brand new and out today is the English Eccentrics SS19 Liberty Collection.  It’s a vibrant and diverse collection for Spring Summer 2019.  The collection is inspired by seven English eccentric characters.  This spans several decades and covers a wide diversity of genres.  Their wide-reaching travels inspire their work and have enriched British culture and history.  Historical figures such as King George IV who built the exotic and fantastical Brighton Pavilion (an Indian inspired seaside retreat filled with Chinoiserie and oriental opulence), Roald Dahl, Virginia Woolfe, the botanist Marianne North and John Lenon. I’ve put the fabric into some gorgeous fat …

40th Anniversary Classics Collection

Happy New Year!  I’m so excited to announce the arrival of the 40th Anniversary Classics Collection.  This collection celebrates the 40th birthday of Liberty classic prints. It’s a beautiful collection of some of the favourite classic prints in gorgeous colourways.  The Liberty fabric Classics collection started in 1979, created to champion the most well-known and iconic designs from the Liberty archive all year around.  Unlike the seasonal, trend-driven collections, the Classics are permanently available, offering a curated selection of heritage designs. This season, Liberty are celebrating the collection’s 40th anniversary by selecting the 15 most popular designs from across the past four decades, …

The project for today’s 12 Days of Christmas is this lovely Liberty Christmas Bunting.   It’s the second project by Sarah W from the studio.  You can use them as bunting or as hangings for sweets and treats or simply to jolly up your home. Sarah talked about her love of this project.  “I don’t know about you but for me, when it comes to Christmas, I’m a traditionalist.  My Christmas theme is red or green and a bit of gold to add the sparkle so when it came to choosing fabric for the Christmas stocking bunting it had to …

Christmas Tree Chocolate Holders

Sarah W from the studio has made these really sweet Christmas Tree Chocolate Holders.  They are really lovely and are the first of three projects that Sarah has made. Sarah says “These little cones were so quick and simple to make and look lovely on the tree filled with treats.  I’ve chosen reds and greens and have picked the Wiltshire Christmas  and matched it with a brighter red.  It only takes two 9′ x 13″ scraps to make four cones but I did use interfacing to give them some structure.  These were a pleasure to make and have added to …

Laura from the office has made this gorgeous Liberty Fabric Chain.  I’ve been so inspired by all of the sweet Liberty Christmas projects that everyone has brought in.  This is a lovely and easy project if you fancy doing some Christmas crafting. Laura has written a tutorial for the project. “I recalled making paper chains when I was younger and thought that experience could be re-created using beautiful Liberty fabric. This project would be a great one to do with young kids as there is no sewing involved, was super easy to do and the chain grows very quickly once …

The Wiltshire red range has such a Christmas feel about it.  The wash bags and purses would make a great gift for someone who loves to travel.  I love to keep my cables and plugs in my medium purse.  It came in handy when I was in Poland to deliver the Quilt SOS …

Create for Christmas

Create for Christmas

It’s always good to Create for Christmas.  Anna JP from the office has made these gorgeous candle holders.  I’ve asked her to tell you all about them. It’s always nice to have pretty candles and lit-up items over the winter time, when it can seem like you spend your whole life in the dark and needing to put the lights on. So when Anna asked us to make some Christmas-themed craft projects I immediately thought of something based around candles. These glass jars are really easy to make, and, as I had hoped, the candle-light shines through the Liberty fabric …
