Liberty Christmas Fairy

Claire from the studio has made this really sweet Liberty Christmas fairy.  She saw a similar one on Pinterest and really wanted to make one using the Wiltshire Christmas fabric.  Her’s will decorate the top of her tree.

Claire drew a pattern for her body, wings and the heart for the front.  Her dress is a simple circle.  You can draw around a plate for this.  Just pick one that seems the right size for the fairy.  She’s used our exclusive Wiltshire Christmas fabric for the dress.

You will need:

A scrap of white and red felt for the wings and heart.

A scrap of fabric for the dress and cream fabric for the body.

Twine or decorative thread.

Her hair is made using a fine twine which is sewn into the finished head and then is plaited.  You could also use a colourful or silver sparkly thread.

The wings are simply glued on to the back of the fairy.

Claire said “My Liberty Christmas Fairy was really fun to make.  I love crafting for Christmas and couldn’t wait to get sewing.  I used a machine to sew her but had to hand sew some of the more fiddly bits.  I’m making more of various sizes to give as gifts for my family and friends.  I’m putting her on the top of my tree but you could also make her into a tree hanging decoration.”
