Liberty Fabric Tana Lawn Montgomery B

£25.00 Mtr

William Morris drew plant forms based upon those in his own garden as well as wild flowers and trees which he saw on country walks. In a lecture given by him in 1881 he argued the ideal pattern should have ‘unmistakable suggestions of gardens and fields’. With this in mind, this design takes inspiration from the simplicity but beauty of foliage as does “Willow” a Morris design of stylised yet naturalistic willow branches. Drawn in fine liner pen, the delicate details are captured through a traditional one colour rotary print.

Liberty’s ‘Private View’ collection is a journey through an imaginary art gallery, putting the different facets of Liberty’s fabric story on display.
