Liberty Fabric Tana Lawn Palampore B

£5.80 - £25.00 / FatQ - Mtr

Palampore is based on a fabric sample taken from an 1880’s Liberty furnishing archive book. An oriental floral arranged in a neat ogee trail, it is made up of a variety of small stylised flowers including roses and carnations.

Liberty’s ‘English Eccentrics’ is a vibrant and diverse collection for Spring Summer 2019. It’s inspired by seven English eccentric characters from across several decades and covers a wide diversity of genres. Their wide-reaching travels inspire their work and have enriched British culture and history. Inspirations include, among others, figures such as King George IV who built the exotic and fantastical Brighton Pavilion; Roald Dahl, a great English children’s author whose fantastical worlds and characters have delighted for generations; Marianne North a pioneering botanist who travelled the globe recording her discoveries in richly coloured oil paintings; and John Lennon, a musician whose travels to India, Bermuda and New York inspired his lyrics.

There are 49 designs within this fantastical collection which comprises new hand drawn and painted artwork alongside reworked archive prints dating as far back as the 19th century.  This collection is a joyful array of printed textiles with a sense of the pioneering, adventurous spirit shared by all of the muses.
