PATTERN : Andromeda Quilt Pattern

This Andromeda Quilt is a delightful display of fabric and patchwork pattern in a rainbow of colours. A sea of small stars swarm around the large central star, ringed by pretty diamond borders. It will be the perfect addition to any bed or sofa. It is named after the Andromeda Galaxy, which is the largest galaxy in our local area (universally speaking, of course). Our Milky Way Galaxy has around 200-400 billion stars, but the Andromeda Galaxy has around 1 trillion- that is a lot of stars!

The main star block within this quilt is most commonly called a ‘swamp angel’. Slightly odd name aside, it certainly is a pretty block and actually rather more simple to achieve that it may appear. At its base, it is made up of half square triangles which forms one of the foundational techniques of quilting. Well suited for intermediate sewers, with illustrated instructions and handy hints and tips you will be mastering the swamp angel blocks in no time at all.

This quilt is very well suited for Liberty Tana Lawn® to be used as Fabrics A-T, the binding and the backing. If not Liberty, any other 54” (137cm) wide fabric will suit.
