Happy New Year! I’m so excited to announce the arrival of the 40th Anniversary Classics Collection. This collection celebrates the 40th birthday of Liberty classic prints. It’s a beautiful collection of some of the favourite classic prints in gorgeous colourways.
The Liberty fabric Classics collection started in 1979, created to champion the most well-known and iconic designs from the Liberty archive all year around. Unlike the seasonal, trend-driven collections, the Classics are permanently available, offering a curated selection of heritage designs. This season, Liberty are celebrating the collection’s 40th anniversary by selecting the 15 most popular designs from across the past four decades, offered in 40 new and recoloured editions.
This is a wonderful collection of the most popular Liberty classic prints. I am really excited by many of the prints and colourways. I’m delighted to see ‘Mitsi’ back as she’s one of my absolute favourites; there’s a very exciting new colourway of ‘Strawberry Thief’; a pretty and unusual colourway of ‘Emma and Georgina’; the ‘Edenham’ colours are so fresh and exciting; and, of course, I adore the pink ‘Thorpe’. I am super excited about this collection as it will excite Liberty lovers across the globe.
The enduring popularity and fame of Liberty’s Classics is unique in the world of fashion fabrics and something they are very proud of. I love them too and can’t wait to start making in these gorgeous colour combinations.
