Amazing Liberty Quilts!

I’ve got two more Amazing Liberty Quilts! to show you today.  These have been made by my lovely customers for the Quilt SOS project.  For those of you who who don’t know, this project is a charity quilt project which is making Liberty quilts for children who need them.

I asked for more quilts for boys.   Over half of the children in the Lithuanian village are boys and so, we desperately needed more quilts for them.  Here’s a really lovely traditional ‘Friendship Star’ quilt that Yolanda White has made.  This is just perfect for a boy.  I really love the bright colours!

A close up of the one of the amazing Liberty quilts!  You can see from the friendship star that it’s a simple pattern of half square triangles and squares in each quilt block.  Yolanda has used a combination of blues and bright yellow and oranges for this lovely quilt.

I really love this repeated friendship star pattern.  The thought of friendship passing from country to country through quilt making is a lovely thought.

Amazing Liberty Quilts!

This Amazing Liberty Quilt! was made for the project by Lesley.  It’s a log cabin design with appliquéd hearts where the quilt blocks join together.

Amazing Liberty Quilts!

I absolutely love log cabin quilts and the beautiful colours in this quilt are really stunning.

The appliquéd hearts break up the quilt blocks in a simple but pretty way.

Here’s the corner detail of the quilt.  Lesley has also appliquéd flowers around the edge in lovely Liberty colours.

Thank you so much Yolanda and Lesley for making these amazing Liberty quilts!  I will look forward to taking these to Lithuania later on this year to find their new homes.
