I have loads of Liberty Love this Valentine so thought that I would show you my make up purse in two of the new collection fabrics. I’ve made these for my daughter as a cute gift this Valentine’s Day but it would equally make a lovely Mother’s Day gift too ( I know I am being so organised!). It’s my favourite thing making things for people I love and so what better to do than to make someone feel happy by receiving something special.
These two fabrics are from the new Liberty Spring / Summer 2016 collection which is called The Artist. The collection is a beautiful exploration of the imaginative mind and skilled hand of ‘The Artist’. It features florals, abstracts and textures which are colourfully curated in ten design stories from ‘The Painter’s Meadow’ to ‘The Modern Impressionist’. The colour palette of the collection is also heavily influenced by the artistic world from names such as Monet, Hockney, Picasso and Rousseau.
I love a new Liberty collection – it’s one of my favourite times of the year – delving through the luxurious colours and designs is just heaven for me. Matching up projects with the beautiful fabrics is what I love to do best of all. It’s always loads of fun to see what other people are making from the fabrics too – make sure you send me pictures of the lovely things you have made.
Here’s the zip detail – I have chosen hot pink and lime green to make them a design feature which works really well.
Marble Hearts A: This is the white based fabric with the super sweet hearts. It’s a lovely modern print and the really cute design was created through the Liberty Design Team’s artistic experimentation in mixing paint with turpentine (this sounds fun!). The mixture was pressed between two acetate sheets to create this marbled geometric look. This is one of my favourites from the new collection and it could be used for lots of different sewing projects.
