Beautiful Liberty Blouse

Louise from the studio has made this beautiful Liberty Blouse using one of the fabrics from the Liberty Travels Collection.

She tells me about her make.  “This is only my second ever garment make at Alice Caroline, so I chose an easy pattern – Butterick B6214 but challenged myself a little more this time with added sleeves.  I’m so glad I made the simpler top on last month’s blog first as I really am learning as I go, with help from my super knowledgeable colleagues for which I’m very grateful.”

“When I saw the Liberty Travels Collection, I knew exactly which design I would go for straight away; I love the rich, dark background colour of Feldberg Forest C and the fantasy theme of animals and toadstools is a real conversation starter, but a subtle enough print size to be wearable every day.”

“The pattern suggested using contrasting colours for the patch pocket and bottom panel, so I made use of Liberty’s Pepper C-40 and Plain Ochre W, as they complement the colours in the main print so well. The Tana Lawn® lends itself to this pattern and its soft silkiness is a dream to wear – I’m very pleased and looking forward to wearing it more when the weather warms up.”
