Beautiful Strawberry Thief Dress

Sarah from the studio has made this beautiful Strawberry Thief Dress from one of the new 40th Classics fabrics.  She has made it for her daughter Annie who is a huge fan of the Strawberry Thief design.  Annie has excellent taste.

The fabric chosen is Strawberry Thief A from the new celebratory classics collection.  The pattern is New Look 6444 using view D.  It’s the same pattern as Gwen’s jumpsuit from last week.  The top half of the design is the same on both views with a different bottom half.  It creates a very different look for two sisters using the same pattern.

Strawberry Thief is an iconic fabric design and so Annie is right to love it.  The new 40th classics anniversary collection has this design in three beautiful colour ways.  This one goes fabulously with Annie’s stunning red hair.  Annie has loved the Strawberry Thief design since she was given one of my wash bags as a present a few years ago.  Sarah previously made a lovely Liberty dress and bolero for Annie which she has now grown out of.  When Sarah offered to make her a new dress in Strawberry Thief she was thrilled.  Annie said “I love the frill and the way that the skirt is longer at the back than the front.  It’s also lovely to have a new Liberty dress.”

Sarah suggested this style for Annie as she thought the shorter skirt could be worn in all seasons with different accessories (the pattern also contains a maxi dress).

Mum Sarah who has made both garments relaxes in the garden with her lovely daughters.  Thank you Sarah for sharing your sewing talent with us.  Both garments are really beautiful and will be well used this spring and summer.

I hope you love the new anniversary classics as much as I do.
