Anna’s Cotswold Window Liberty Garden Quilt

This is the last of Suzanne Campion’s lovely projects using my exclusive Butterfly Garden range of fabrics from last year.  Suzanne has called this her Anna’s Cotswold Window Liberty Garden Quilt.  She’s used one fat quarter of the Anna’s Garden Teal fabric in a really clever way.  I love the way she’s continued the fabric pattern looking through the window.         What gave you the idea to make this quilt? “I have always wanted to make an Attic Window quilt. When I received this fat quarter of your exclusive Anna’s Garden print it was what I would like …

Butterfly Notre-Dame Cushion

I love this Butterfly Notre-Dame Cushion made by the very talented Suzanne Campion.  It’s been made to complement the gorgeous quilt I posted about last week.     I asked Suzanne about this lovely cushion project:   I love the fussy cutting of the fabrics in this cushion.  Can you tell us a little more about the technique? “Fussy cutting involves focusing on a particular design element within a fabric and highlighting it. I chose to bring out the butterfly detail and in particular the Strawberry Thief panel border of the cushion was centred and cut the same for top …

Liberty Butterfly Notre-Dame Quilt

Suzanne Campion, one of our most favourite of customers has made this Liberty Butterfly Notre-Dame Quilt using lots of the exclusive fabrics from my recent collection.  It showcases the fabric in the collection so beautifully.  I’ve got several projects to share with you over the next few weeks which is really exciting.  Let’s sew our way through lockdown number 3!     I asked her about the make. Firstly I love the name of your quilt – what inspired the name? “I am naming all of my cathedral window patterns after cathedrals and choose Notre Dame to compliment the Parisian …

Liberty Detachable Collar

Laura has made this gorgeous Liberty Detachable Collar which is fully reversible.  It’s got a lovely vintage style about it and I love the fact that it is two garments in one.  Laura told me about the project below: “I have never had any need to do the whole ‘Christmas jumper’ thing. Certainly no need for jumpers in December in Australia. ‘Christmas sunburn’ was more the thing, an attractive red and regret-tinged momento of what my Christmas Day outfit of choice did not cover. Ouch. However I must say that even if they were a thing Down Under, I probably …

Liberty Pine Cone Decoration

Pauline from the studio has made this really sweet Liberty Pine Cone Decoration.  It looks super simple but yet really effective hanging from the door.  The vibrancy of the Liberty fabric really showcases the pine cones beautifully. Pauline said about the make “I spotted it on Pinterest and thought it was the perfect no-sew festive make when time is always short at this time of year.  I have loads of pine cones so it was meant to be.  Armed with my trusty glue gun and beautiful Christmas inspired Liberty fabric, already pre cut into 2″ ribbon strips, it was a …

Liberty Christmas Decorations

Kathy has made these lovely Liberty Christmas Decorations.  They are a really great, simple make that could be made as part of a Christmas crafting session – perhaps a lovely mum and daughter project. Kathy talks about her Christmas crafting here: “I made these decoration as a little aside to the rest of my my Christmas makes.  I saw them on Pinterest and thought they were a little shabby chic.  It’s a great project which can be made out of scraps.” “Firstly, I embroidered the words onto some hessian fabric I already had in my stash and sewed this onto …

Luna Lapin’s Liberty Cat

Lara’s final super cute make from the Luna Lapin’s friends book by Sarah Peel.  Here’s the cat which Lara has made for herself.  It’s completely gorgeous, as are the fox and rabbit shown in previous blog posts. “I made the cat first.  I chose the lovely felt fabric from a company called Billow Fabrics.  I decided that an old skirt of mine would make a rather lovely pinafore dress.  I lined the dress and ears with Wiltshire C.  I also used the Wiltshire C fabric on her footpads which looks really sweet.  I love the pinafore dress so much that …

Christmas Log Cabin Cushion

Anna has made this Christmas Log Cabin Cushion using strips of pink and red Liberty fabric.  It’s graded from light in the centre to dark colours around the outside of the cushion.  Each ring of the log cabin uses one fabric which gives a lovely finish to the cushion.  Anna has written up a tutorial for you should you wish to give this easy sewing technique a go. Log Cabin tutorial – makes a 20″ square cushion cover: “I simply started with a 2.5” square of fabric in the centre and chose fabrics that graded from light to dark as …

Quilt SOS – The Journey to Hestia

Quilt SOS – The Journey to Hestia.  Last week, we finally managed to personally deliver the Quilt SOS quilts to Hestia in Croydon.  The wonderful Alice Caroline customers and staff have been making beautiful quilts for us to donate to the charity Hestia.  Hestia are based in and around London and run refuges to help women and children.  These women and children have been affected by domestic violence and are now re-building their lives with the support of the charity.  We wanted to be able to give them a special gift this Christmas. We made the journey to Croydon last …

Luna Lapin’s Liberty Fox

This is the second of Lara’s gorgeous projects – this is Luna Lapin’s Liberty Fox.  I simply love this adorable teddy.  Lara has taken the best from the pattern but has added her own touches for clothing and face design. I asked her about the project. “I bought the book ‘Luna Lapin’s Friends’ on a shopping trip to Evesham Vale.  There’s a cute little craft shop there that I love.  It caught my eye with its cute forest creatures.  I made this ‘Rafferty Fox’ for a new baby in our family.  I thought Rafferty was a fox like name although …
