Christmas Liberty Pyjamas

Anna has been busy making Christmas Liberty Pyjamas for her children.  There’s nothing quite like the feel of Liberty Tana Lawn against your skin and a pair of Christmas pyjamas is a lovely thing to receive.

I asked Anna about the project:

“I love making things for my children at Christmas but as they get older they are getting more specific about what they love to receive.  This year I thought I would make pyjama bottoms and get a lovely snuggly top to go with them.  I used the pattern Simplicity 1504 which has got lots of different options for matching tops and bottoms as well as night dresses and shirts.  I wanted to keep things simple and comfortable so just made the bottom half.”

“My son has loved the Liberty fabric Queue for the Zoo ever since I made him a Queue for the Zoo quilt when he was little.  We used to talk about the sweet elephant and his little suitcase and where he may be going on his travels.  My daughter chose her fabric as at 13, she is quite particular.  She has the Liberty bug too and is currently making Liberty facecloths as presents for Christmas.”

Fabrics used are Queue for the Zoo H-CC and Meadow Silhouette B-CC

“To be honest you could use any Liberty Tana Lawn fabric to make pyjamas.  The choice is completely down to personal preference.   These were a really simple sewing project – each pyjamas bottoms took around 1.5 hours from start to finish.  The pattern includes a pocket which is very handy.  I did get the children to try them on for size and each one is a perfect fit.  I am so pleased with the finished results.  I think the children are never going to want to wear anything other than Tana Lawn pyjamas ever again.”

I hope this inspires you to make something for the ones you love this Christmas.
