Louise has made these gorgeous Liberty Christmas Cards using our Christmas charms. We love to be able to show you what you can do with a Liberty charm (the list is endless) and I always love the inspiration and ideas that come from everyone here at Alice Caroline. Louise tells us about the project below.
“Last year I made Christmas cards for the first time using Liberty Tana Lawn backed with Vlieseline and then touched up the designs with watercolour pens to add detail to simulate stitches. This year I have used real stitches – if you zoom in you will see I’ve used a basic zigzag stitch on my sewing machine to do most of the work. It was a real experiment to start with as I had no idea you could stitch fabric and card together on a sewing machine, so I tried out a small scrap first using a denim weight needle, and found it was super easy!”
“Part of my job at Alice Caroline is to select Liberty fabrics for our sewing kits, and putting together red, green gold and silver colours of Liberty Tana Lawn prints to make our 5″ Christmas charm squares was a real joy, as was coming up with the designs and making the cards. Now I have to decide who to send them to – which one is your favourite?”
