Liberty Dog Coat

Kathy has made this super sweet Liberty Dog Coat for her gorgeous Buzz.  She used some of the Felix & Isabelle PVC coated fabric and lined it with an old cashmere jumper.  Lucky Buzz!

I asked Kathy about the project.

What was your inspiration for making it and does Buzz love wearing it? “Buzz my furry baby needed a waterproof coat for the crazy amount of rain we had last winter.  He wasn’t keen at first and just stood there not wanting to move.”

Did you use a pattern? “I used a Simplicity pattern number 8824 but tis was really only for the shape.  I had to adapt the pattern as I was using coated fabric.  I also recycled the lining from an old cashmere jumper from Lara in the studio.  To stop the cashmere from stretching, I glued it to the main fabric.”

Was it easy to make? “It was really quick and easy to make”

Are you pleased with the result? “I was pleased with the result but I do need to add some elastic to the back to stop his jacket twisting when he’s out walking.  He hasn’t had much use for it recently as the weather has been so nice here but I’m sure he will wear it lots next winter.”
