Liberty Pyjamas

Anna JP from the office made these lovely Liberty pyjamas for her two boys as a Christmas gift.  She has used fabrics from the new ‘From London With Love‘ collection.

Anna talks about making her Liberty Pyjamas:

“This Christmas I wanted to make more presents, and reckoned that kids’ PJs would be a fairly simple but well-appreciated project. I love the fun and colourful fabrics in the From London with Love collection, and it was quite easy to choose the prints I thought my boys would love most.”

“For these PJs, I adapted an old basic trouser shape from my dressmaking pattern collection, adding a side seam pocket and putting more ease into the shape so they’d be more comfortable. It was a stroke of luck that the two fabrics went so well together, so I decided that I’d put contrasting elasticated waistbands on each trouser to add a bit more visual interest and make the sets more brotherly.
The tops are from H&M’s kids basics range and are made with organic cotton. To make the monogram letters I just cut “O” and “I” templates from paper, then traced the outline onto the fabric which had been interfaced beforehand to keep it stable.

Oscar (13) and Isaac (11) love their new ‘jamas and spent a lot of time lounging in them over the Christmas holidays. Oscar said he likes them for the smoothness and lightness of the Tana Lawn, which feels really comfortable both when pottering around and when snuggled up in bed.”
