Luna Lapin’s Liberty Cat

Lara’s final super cute make from the Luna Lapin’s friends book by Sarah Peel.  Here’s the cat which Lara has made for herself.  It’s completely gorgeous, as are the fox and rabbit shown in previous blog posts.

“I made the cat first.  I chose the lovely felt fabric from a company called Billow Fabrics.  I decided that an old skirt of mine would make a rather lovely pinafore dress.  I lined the dress and ears with Wiltshire C.  I also used the Wiltshire C fabric on her footpads which looks really sweet.  I love the pinafore dress so much that I want to make an adult version for myself.”

“The book ‘Luna Lapin’s Friends’ by Sarah Peel is easy to use.  All of the patterns are at 100% which is great (and not all that common).  This means that you can simply trace them which is nice and easy.  The book has sweet short stories in it too.  The cat itself was simple to make.  All of the seams are whipstitched.  The only thing I changed was by using safety eyes instead of buttons as I wasn’t sure at the time of making if it was going to be a present for a child or not.  The eyes I used look more ‘cat like’ too which I love.  I might just keep this little cat as it’s my first one.”

Here are all of Lara’s super sweet teddies all lying in a frosty field together.  These are so adorable – you can tell that so much love and care has gone into the making of these memory teddies.  I hope Sofia loves her ‘Rosie Rabbit’ and that she has many hours of fun playing with her.  Thank you for sharing your gorgeous makes with us Lara.
