Liberty Midi Dress

Kathy has made this gorgeous Liberty Midi dress out of the Liberty Tana Lawn® Champion’s Bouquet B fabric from the beautiful Liberty Champions collection. The pattern has various options for a frill, a longer length dress and long sleeves, giving multiple options for future sewing which is always great.  I asked Kathy why she decided to make this dress. “I saw it on last year’s Sewing Bee and I thought it was such a beautiful design that I just couldn’t resist! I decided on a floaty sleeve as I felt this would look more like a classic T-dress, which I absolutely …

Beautiful Liberty Sewing Bag

I’m completely in love with this Beautiful Liberty Sewing Bag.  Anne from the Lewes Sewing Bees has made this gorgeous bag using all three of our Alice Caroline Tresco Exclusives. Anne said “These colour ways are delicious and it was a delight to work with them.  As ever, Tana Lawn® is my 100% favourite cotton fabric to sew with.  It’s a pure delight to the hand.  Most of the Bees (Lewes Sewing Bees) have made this bag.  During the week, all of my sewing stuff mounts up in the bag until Thursday evening then I clear it out ready for …

Tresco Evening Liberty Dress

One of our favourite customers Tracy Aplin has made this gorgeous Tresco Evening Liberty Dress.  It’s a day time dress but uses our exclusive Liberty Tresco Evening Liberty fabric.  Anna is modelling Tracy’s dress here but there’s a lovely picture of Tracy later on.  Tracy tells us about her make below.     Why did you choose our new Tresco Evening to make your dress? “The new Tresco fabrics are all lovely. Usually go for brights but the navy background looks different. I would still wear a bright cardigan and shoes with it as it still has so many colours …

Daydream Believer Liberty Blouse

Lucy from the studio has made this simply gorgeous Daydream Believer Liberty Blouse.  It uses one of the beautiful fabrics from the SS21 ‘Atlas of Dreams’ collection.  Sometimes it’s hard to imagine a garment when you look at a fabric so this blouse will hopefully give you some inspiration. I asked Lucy about her make: “When I first saw Liberty’s SS21 collection I was really struck by the sheer variety of designs. There is everything from delicate florals to exotic wildlife and many, many things in between.  Can I just say at this point that this does not make it …

Liberty Dungarees – Yes Please!

Yay – spring has arrived in the UK and what better way to celebrate than to showcase some gorgeous Liberty Dungarees.  Laura from the office has made these using Primrose Path C from the new Shona Heath Capsule collection from Liberty.     I asked Laura about the project: “Shock and horror/awe from all, it isn’t a dress! I’m stepping out of my comfort zone in springy yellow dungarees and feeling quite pleased with the outcome. Are they dungarees if they have a back bodice thing instead of just an apron front flap bodice thing? Where do dungarees end and …

Beautiful Liberty Lap Quilt

Kathy from the studio has made this Beautiful Liberty Lap Quilt for her friend who is moving away.  She’s used a lovely combination of teal colours alongside making EPP jewels in the alternate blocks.  I asked Kathy about the quilt.   What inspired you to make this lovely quilt?  “I loved the colour way that Anna made for her quilt and I decided I wanted to recreate this for my friend Lisa.  I loved the simplicity of the design – it’s a 16 patch block (made using 15 different Liberty fabrics).  My good friend Lisa is going to live in …

This is the last of Suzanne Campion’s lovely projects using my exclusive Butterfly Garden range of fabrics from last year.  Suzanne has called this her Anna’s Cotswold Window Liberty Garden Quilt.  She’s used one fat quarter of the Anna’s Garden Teal fabric in a really clever way.  I love the way she’s continued the fabric pattern looking through the window.         What gave you the idea to make this quilt? “I have always wanted to make an Attic Window quilt. When I received this fat quarter of your exclusive Anna’s Garden print it was what I would like …

Liberty Detachable Collar

Laura has made this gorgeous Liberty Detachable Collar which is fully reversible.  It’s got a lovely vintage style about it and I love the fact that it is two garments in one.  Laura told me about the project below: “I have never had any need to do the whole ‘Christmas jumper’ thing. Certainly no need for jumpers in December in Australia. ‘Christmas sunburn’ was more the thing, an attractive red and regret-tinged momento of what my Christmas Day outfit of choice did not cover. Ouch. However I must say that even if they were a thing Down Under, I probably …

Luna Lapin’s Liberty Cat

Lara’s final super cute make from the Luna Lapin’s friends book by Sarah Peel.  Here’s the cat which Lara has made for herself.  It’s completely gorgeous, as are the fox and rabbit shown in previous blog posts. “I made the cat first.  I chose the lovely felt fabric from a company called Billow Fabrics.  I decided that an old skirt of mine would make a rather lovely pinafore dress.  I lined the dress and ears with Wiltshire C.  I also used the Wiltshire C fabric on her footpads which looks really sweet.  I love the pinafore dress so much that …
