Gorgeous Liberty Quilt As You Go Quilt

Anna JP has made this Gorgeous Liberty Quilt using a combination of the two latest Liberty fabric collections.  It has beautiful fabrics from both the Classics 40th anniversary collection and the SS19 seasonal collection. The Quilt as you go technique is really simple.  It’s a great way of getting a quilt result in quilting.  The method means that you have a backing piece of fabric (right side down), place your wadding on top of that and then quilt your panels onto the front.  In this case it is strips of whole width of fabric.    Here are some of Anna’s …

Christmas Cathedral Windows Cushion

I’m really excited to showcase this stunning Christmas Cathedral Windows Cushion.  It’s been designed by Suzanne Campion one of my customers.  I approached her earlier on in the year to make something using my exclusive fabrics. You may remember the cushion she made. As a result of this, lots of people asked for the pattern at The Festival of Quilts.  I asked Suzanne if she would ‘guest design’ the pattern for us.  Here it is.  Suzanne has made the cushion in these gorgeous Christmas colours. I’m selling this as a kit which is out now; the downloadable pattern will be …

Liberty Christmas Table Mats

These gorgeous Liberty Christmas Table Mats are sure to make your festive table shine.  This is the last of Sarah W’s Christmas projects. I asked Sarah about the project.  She said “This was my first attempt at free motion quilting and I’m thrilled with the result.  To make these table mats, I used a Christmas scrap pack and embellished with sequins and gold thread.  I also used one fat quarter of Capel Green to make the bias for the edging.  These were really fun to make and I can’t wait to use them on our Christmas table.” This sewing project …

Liberty Christmas Bunting

The project for today’s 12 Days of Christmas is this lovely Liberty Christmas Bunting.   It’s the second project by Sarah W from the studio.  You can use them as bunting or as hangings for sweets and treats or simply to jolly up your home. Sarah talked about her love of this project.  “I don’t know about you but for me, when it comes to Christmas, I’m a traditionalist.  My Christmas theme is red or green and a bit of gold to add the sparkle so when it came to choosing fabric for the Christmas stocking bunting it had to …

100 Blocks 100 Days Liberty Quilt

One of my customers, Lisa Perry, has made this gorgeous Liberty Quilt.  It was inspired by the Gnome Angel sew along and uses Tula Pink designs from her book ‘100 Modern Quilt Blocks’.  I love the gorgeous mix of Liberty fabrics in this quilt.  It’s so vibrant and fun. Lisa came in to the studio a few weeks ago with this beautiful Liberty Quilt.  Everyone gathered round (as is traditional here) to see what Lisa had brought in.  I couldn’t resist taking a few pictures and sharing her quilt story with you.  I asked her a few questions about the …

I am delighted to showcase these stunning Liberty Cathedral Classic Cushions.  These beautiful Cathedral window cushions have been made by Suzanne Campion, one of the lovely Alice Caroline customers.  Suzanne is a firm supporter of the Quilt SOS project and so far, has made many quilts for us to take to new worthy homes.  She stepped in at the last minute last year to make lots of extra quilts so that each child would receive one in Vilnius, Lithuania – thank you so much Suzanne! Suzanne told me a little about herself and her sewing journey.  “My Gran taught me to …

It’s a Liberty Glenjade Day

It’s a Liberty Glenjade kind of a day today.  Claire and Hils in the studio have been busy sewing this week.  Take a look at what they have made! Claire has made a lovely jumpsuit from Glenjade I using The Poppy Playsuit pattern from Simply Sewing Magazine (Issue 16). Claire lengthened the pattern to make a full length playsuit which needed a little extra fabric.  Glenjade is a really nice fabric pattern.  It’s not too overpowering and the small scale print is cute.  Claire loves blues and says that most of her clothes are blue.  She put elastic on the …

Liberty BBQ Cover – A Sizzling Summer Project

I’ve got some Liberty oilcloth in stock and we were thinking about what we could make from it. Anna JP came up with this fabulous Liberty BBQ Cover.  She’s used the Manning oilcloth which looks really great in her garden.  I’ve asked her to tell you about the sewing project below. About the Liberty BBQ Cover project, Anna says “I had been thinking about practical uses for the darker patterns of our oilcloth for some time, and decided to see if the green Manning fabric would work in the garden. A table-cloth, contrast-sided floor cushion, or barbecue cover all seemed …
