Daydream Believer Liberty Blouse

Lucy from the studio has made this simply gorgeous Daydream Believer Liberty Blouse.  It uses one of the beautiful fabrics from the SS21 ‘Atlas of Dreams’ collection.  Sometimes it’s hard to imagine a garment when you look at a fabric so this blouse will hopefully give you some inspiration. I asked Lucy about her make: “When I first saw Liberty’s SS21 collection I was really struck by the sheer variety of designs. There is everything from delicate florals to exotic wildlife and many, many things in between.  Can I just say at this point that this does not make it …

Liberty Dungarees – Yes Please!

Yay – spring has arrived in the UK and what better way to celebrate than to showcase some gorgeous Liberty Dungarees.  Laura from the office has made these using Primrose Path C from the new Shona Heath Capsule collection from Liberty.     I asked Laura about the project: “Shock and horror/awe from all, it isn’t a dress! I’m stepping out of my comfort zone in springy yellow dungarees and feeling quite pleased with the outcome. Are they dungarees if they have a back bodice thing instead of just an apron front flap bodice thing? Where do dungarees end and …

Beautiful Liberty Lap Quilt

Kathy from the studio has made this Beautiful Liberty Lap Quilt for her friend who is moving away.  She’s used a lovely combination of teal colours alongside making EPP jewels in the alternate blocks.  I asked Kathy about the quilt.   What inspired you to make this lovely quilt?  “I loved the colour way that Anna made for her quilt and I decided I wanted to recreate this for my friend Lisa.  I loved the simplicity of the design – it’s a 16 patch block (made using 15 different Liberty fabrics).  My good friend Lisa is going to live in …

Beautiful Baby Quilt

Dawn has made this sweet and Beautiful Baby Quilt using a really lovely combination of colours of Theo.  This makes such a lovely and personal gift for a newborn. Who did you make this gorgeous quilt for? “I made the quilt for my nephew’s baby (on my husband’s side of the family).  My husband and I have recently become Great Uncle and Great Aunt to baby Sophia.  She was born 2 months premature so rather caught me on the hop with my quilt making!”   What inspired your fabric choice? “As she was unexpected early I decided to try and …

Anna’s Cotswold Window Liberty Garden Quilt

This is the last of Suzanne Campion’s lovely projects using my exclusive Butterfly Garden range of fabrics from last year.  Suzanne has called this her Anna’s Cotswold Window Liberty Garden Quilt.  She’s used one fat quarter of the Anna’s Garden Teal fabric in a really clever way.  I love the way she’s continued the fabric pattern looking through the window.         What gave you the idea to make this quilt? “I have always wanted to make an Attic Window quilt. When I received this fat quarter of your exclusive Anna’s Garden print it was what I would like …

Liberty Detachable Collar

Laura has made this gorgeous Liberty Detachable Collar which is fully reversible.  It’s got a lovely vintage style about it and I love the fact that it is two garments in one.  Laura told me about the project below: “I have never had any need to do the whole ‘Christmas jumper’ thing. Certainly no need for jumpers in December in Australia. ‘Christmas sunburn’ was more the thing, an attractive red and regret-tinged momento of what my Christmas Day outfit of choice did not cover. Ouch. However I must say that even if they were a thing Down Under, I probably …

Luna Lapin’s Liberty Cat

Lara’s final super cute make from the Luna Lapin’s friends book by Sarah Peel.  Here’s the cat which Lara has made for herself.  It’s completely gorgeous, as are the fox and rabbit shown in previous blog posts. “I made the cat first.  I chose the lovely felt fabric from a company called Billow Fabrics.  I decided that an old skirt of mine would make a rather lovely pinafore dress.  I lined the dress and ears with Wiltshire C.  I also used the Wiltshire C fabric on her footpads which looks really sweet.  I love the pinafore dress so much that …

Luna Lapin’s Liberty Fox

This is the second of Lara’s gorgeous projects – this is Luna Lapin’s Liberty Fox.  I simply love this adorable teddy.  Lara has taken the best from the pattern but has added her own touches for clothing and face design. I asked her about the project. “I bought the book ‘Luna Lapin’s Friends’ on a shopping trip to Evesham Vale.  There’s a cute little craft shop there that I love.  It caught my eye with its cute forest creatures.  I made this ‘Rafferty Fox’ for a new baby in our family.  I thought Rafferty was a fox like name although …

Rosie Rabbit Liberty Luna Lapin

Lara from the studio has made this gorgeous Rosie Rabbit Liberty Luna Lapin.  It’s from the book Luna Lapin’s Friends by Sarah Peel and the results are really beautiful.  In actual fact, she’s made 3 of the teddies from the book but we thought we would share them over time as they are so lovely. I asked Lara about the make: “The rabbit is based on Luna Lapin but I did make quite a few alterations.  I wanted to make a Little Red Riding Rabbit for my daughter Sofia and used the Wiltshire S fabric to make her dress.  I …

Liberty Re-usable Face Cloths

Kathy from the studio has made these gorgeous Liberty Re-usable Face Cloths.  I made some of these last year to give as gifts and they proved so popular that lots of others have been busy making for the festive period.  Kathy made these for her sister in law.  These are a great way to use up your Liberty scraps. I asked Kathy about the project:  “I bought the scraps to make something else entirely but wanted to make a birthday present for my sister in law Angela.  Angela saw the ones you posted about last Christmas and liked them so, …
