Veronica says “The Tresco print is beautiful and the three different colour ways of  Summer, Lagoon and Evening are very special.  I chose to make a summer snuggle quilt with a fleece backing, perfect for those summer evenings when the sun goes down and a warm cover is needed.”

“I used a pattern called Swedish Bars from Carolyn Forster’s book ‘Big Stitch Quilting’.  I thought this a perfect pattern to showcase the three colour ways of the exclusive Tresco fabrics with its’ uniform pattern linking with complimenting Wiltshire Shadow fabrics in a variety of colours.  The Tresco print is so gorgeous it lends itself to being cut very simply so the flowers and leaves speak for themselves.  The colours and tones are numerous, and the different solids accentuate the pretty mauves, pinks, yellows, blues and greens.”

“I used an ochre fleece for the backing which adds a lovely warmth and brightness to compliment the colours on the front of the quilt.  The weight feels so soft and is ideal for snuggling up to.  I machine quilted this quilt with a big stitch using variegated cotton.  The quilt is finished with a thin piping binding as I wanted a very fine frame on this quilt.”

“The result is a beautifully bright, vibrant quilt with the stunning colours dancing out across the quilt.  I know it’s going to be a family favourite and will be much used and enjoyed.”
