Liberty Tana Lawn® Flower Power Cushion Kit

This Flower Power Sewing Cushion Kit will bring the beauty of wildflower meadows inside to you, showcasing a selection of pretty Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics. With its charming design of busy bees flitting from one colourful bloom to another, this cushion sewing kit creates a sweet and whimsical scene perfect for spring or summer decor.

Suitable for an advancing beginner sewer, this Flower Power cushion kit is constructed using the raw-edge appliqué technique. This does require some concentration, but will help advance your sewing skills. Details in flowers and the ambling flight path of the bees are created through decorative quilting stitches by machine or hand, or a mix of both, if desired. The ‘fold and cut’ method of cutting out the circular flower pieces is inspired by paper-cut snowflakes often made by children. Have fun applying this simple principle to fabric with beautiful results!

You will need: Scissors or scalpel, iron, pencil, erasable fabric pen (such as the Pilot Frixion Heat Erasable Pen, available on our website), pins, thread to match each fabric, black and dark pink embroidery floss or thread, thimble, sewing machine (it is handy to be able to drop the feed dog), hand sewing needle
Optional: free motion quilting foot, washable fabric glue
